Merry Christmas from the USA

Saturday, 22 Dec
2200

People all over the USA have been sending goodie boxes, cards and other greetings to us here. Some are addressed to a specific person or unit; many are sent to “Dear Soldier”. Some are commercial cards people have bought to send us; many more are handmade, mostly by children. People have posted these in their work areas and on the doors of their rooms.

Everywhere you go there are tables covered with things sent to us from people at home. There are Christmas candies, homemade cookies, every type of comfort food and sundry item you can imagine, and occasional handmade crafts with special meaning. They come from families, churches, scout troops, and school classes. They are everywhere around us, and they remind us of home and why we are here.

I thought I would go around our area and take photos of some of them to share. You can see them here:

Thank you to everyone who is thinking of us and reminding us that we are remembered.
